Respects to our knowledge
The instructors who teach for Gridiron Combatives did not 'invent' or 'discover' the techniques, drills and skills that we teach. We learned them from some of the Worlds most famous and talented martial artists. This page is here to pay respects to them for their knowledge, their dedication to their arts and for graciously imparting their teachings to us.
Guro Dan Inosanto is a legend in the martial arts world. If you train martial arts you know the name, he has been on countless movies as an actor, stunt man or behind the scenes choreographing the fights. He is most famous for being a student of Bruce Lee and the only one authorized to continue teaching all three of the late martial artists styles. But as a student of his we see something much more valuable in him. His unwavering dedication to teach and to impart his knowledge on us, whether it be with martial arts techniques or with stories from his younger days or the history, culture and traditions of the arts he teaches. He is a truly selfless man who we inspire to become a fraction like.
Patrick Kelly is the Director of the Indiana University Martial Arts Program and was one of Paul McCarthy's main instructors during his time there. Paul states that "Pat taught me how to become a martial arts instructor, he showed me what it looked like to be a great martial artist....and I wanted to look like that, I wanted to be that good!"
Keith Davis - Guro Keith is the founder and head instructor of Kombat Science & Tactics (KST), his teaching style provided much of the technical ability that Mr. McCarthy uses in analzying how to adapt the martial arts to the football field.
